The climate crisis is on a global scale and the UK is no exception. Cirencester, a small town in the Cotswolds, famed for it’s quintessential British countryside, formed a community group to tackle the floods and droughts in their town over 10 years ago called Friends of the Gumstool Brook.
This group must learn how to respond to emergencies as a community, learn how to prepare for future emergencies and then build climate resilience that mitigates the threat of climate change to their homes.
When people come together, the results can be incredible. Friends of the Gumstool Brook, ACRE and FWAG didn’t just build climate resilience, but friendships and a stronger community. Now it’s time to spread the word, giving every town the skills they need for climate resilience.
